Freedom of Information requests should be printed or typed and including the following information: the name, mailing address and daytime phone number of the requester; and a description of the records being requested. Requests can be mailed, faxed or dropped off in person.

The Mayor's Office of Special Events maintains the following categories of records:

• departmental personnel and payroll records

• advertising tear sheets

• bid specifications

• brochures

• calendar of events (current year calendar of events are available at www.cityofchicago.org/specialevents/

• contracts

• market research

• press releases

• requests for proposals and responses
