CAREERS stands for Chicago Automated Recruiting Evaluation Employment Reporting System. Unveiled in Fall 2007, CAREERS uses the latest technology to make applying for City of Chicago jobs easy and efficient.
You can search for city job opportunities and apply for one or multiple positions using a single online profile. CAREERS is available 24/7 and allows you to:
- Search for available jobs.
- Complete a job application.
- Create a Candidate Profile.
- Receive automatic updates on newly posted jobs.
Job Postings
CAREERS lists all of the jobs currently available in the City of Chicago. The site is updated as new openings become available and as current listings close. Individual job postings include the duties; minimum salary; list of qualifications; and the name of the city department seeking to fill the position.
Your Candidate Profile
Your Candidate Profile tells us about you. It includes your areas of professional interest; resume; transcripts; and other relevant information to help in your job search. Once created and saved, your profile can be used to apply for current or future job listings. And, it will allow CAREERS to send you alerts on new job postings in your areas of interest.
Getting Started
To begin your search, simply click on the “Open Job Opportunities” link below. To apply for a job you will first need to register by creating a User Name and password. To create a User Name and password, click on the “Apply Online” link on any job posting or click on to “Sign In” in the upper right corner.
