Lake Shore Drive & Michigan Ave. Bridge Traffic Advisory

Two lanes in each direction are closed on Lake Shore Drive from Irving Park Road 4000 North to Foster 5299 North due to resurfacing project which begins August 18th and continues through December. Four southbound lanes are maintained from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and four northbound lanes are maintained from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Two lanes of traffic are maintained at all other times. Also, the southbound ramps are closed, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. No consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time. During Cub’s home games, three inbound southbound lanes are maintained three hours prior to the start of the game until one hour after the game. Three lanes outbound northbound are maintained two hours after the start of the Cub game. 

• The Michigan Avenue Bridge is closed nightly from 11 o’clock pm until 5 a.m. the next morning, beginning August 19th and continuing through August 22nd at 300 to 330 North Michigan for utility probing for future work relating to the installation of the Michigan Avenue walkway.  Detour upper northbound Michigan Avenue via Michigan, Wacker, Wabash, Ohio, Michigan. Detour southbound upper Michigan via Michigan, Ontario, Wabash, Wacker, Michigan. Detour northbound lower Michigan via lower Michigan, Wacker, Columbus, Grand, Lower Michigan. Detour southbound lower Michigan via lower Michigan, Illinois, Columbus, Wacker, Lower Michigan.
