Aircraft Noise Complaint
The City of Chicago's Department of Aviation is now providing an on-line service for citizens to express their concerns about particular aircraft noise events or aircraft noise levels in general.
To better gauge the level of disturbance, residents submitting an aircraft noise complaint will be asked a series of questions. The information that is gathered throughout the month is imported to the Airport Noise Management System (ANMS) and tabulated in a report either to Midway or O'Hare International Airports. The ANMS reports summarize the total number of complaints per month, where the callers were located, the number of calls by community as well as the number of
individual callers.
The ANMS reports are then brought to the Midway and O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission meetings where the data is discussed. The ANMS reports are also posted to our web site
