Lake Shore Drive at 31st St. to close overnight this week
As the South Lake Shore Drive project progresses, work crews will continue the reconstruction of the 31st Street Bridge at Lake Shore Drive near McCormick Place. Here's what drivers will find:
- Both directions of Lake Shore Drive will be closed intermittently at 31st Street during the overnight hours from Monday (Nov. 11) through Thursday (Nov. 14).
- Closures will begin at 10 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Traffic will be directed off and then back onto Lake Shore Drive using the 31st Street ramps.
- The closure is needed to safely perform bridge work and install steel beams over both directions of the Drive.
