Chicago provides a diverse selection of outstanding restaurants. Always noted for its great steaks, Chicago has evolved into a trend-setting restaurant city, where you can discover cuisines from around the world. A guide to some of Chicago's outstanding restaurants may be found on the following sites:

  • metromix.com Dining Guide
The largest searchable database of entertainment services lists more than 9,000 restaurants. Users can find restaurant and bar descriptions as well as reviews from consumers and Chicago Tribune restaurant critic, Phil Vettel. The site enables consumers to search for a Chicago-area restaurant by cuisine type, neighborhood or price range. And after finding a restaurant, consumers can make free Open Table.com dining reservations via the internet.

  • Chicago Magazine Dining Guide
One of the oldest and most respected city magazines in the United States, Chicago is the magazine "Chicago Lives By." Its discerning guide to dining in Chicago lists 180 to 200 restaurants, selected through anonymous visits by knowledgeable restaurant critics.

  • Chicago City Search features restaurant ratings by Zagat, the premiere consumer guide to local restaurants.

  • Chicago Restaurant Guide lists restaurants that are members of the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau.

  • Guide to Chicago Chefs

This list of restaurants owned by the city's top chefs was created in 1999 by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs as part of its exhibition, Skrebneski Photographs Chefs of Chicago. The chefs were nominated by Chicago restaurant reviewers and food writers.
